Lion Tom Lippert, Dist. 1-F South East Zone Chair 2017-18
As we’re in to November, and December coming up fast, I wanted to take this opportunity to
reflect on Lions fiscal year 2017, and the beginning of 2018, in terms of the District 1-F South East
Zone. South East Zone includes the following Lions Clubs: Deerfield, Evanston Sunrise, Glenview,
Niles, Northfield, Park Ridge, and Skokie. As of early Fall of this year, I have had the privilege of
meeting most clubs and corresponding with all South East Zone Clubs. Very impressed with all
seven clubs and their respective leadership. All active Lions!
The majority of the Clubs had representation at our first District 1-F SE Zone Meeting in
September, with great interaction between clubs, and speakers from Dist. 1-F and Lions of Illinois
Foundation. Our zone meeting gracious hosts were the Glenview Lions Club.
Our second Dist. 1-F SE Zone Meeting will be Monday, January 8, 2018, topic being our Lions Dist.
1-F Convention; watch for meeting details.
Speaking of our Convention (April 6-8, 2018), you should be reviewing information soon from your
Convention Committee on details. Please note of importance, the proposed Convention
Proceedings Booklet. I’m going to coordinate putting this together and need your assistance with
booklet advertising, narratives, etc. Please note that advertising in our Convention Proceedings
Booklet is very worthwhile, whether it’s a business or your club. Help us, help you!
I’ve got a few reminders to our South East Zone Clubs…
Please regularly complete your local reports and get them to Dist. 1-F; including “special events”
and “photos”- we enjoy hearing from you and your successes.
Please keep your club members informed on Dist. 1-F functions, and invite District 1-F and Lions of
Illinois Foundation and representatives to your meetings (all clubs should have Lions Dist. 1-F
directories on who and how to contact).
Thank you for your hard work as a Lion; it is appreciated by many.
Your Lions District 1-F Cabinet and Illinois Foundation is here to support your club…let us know
how we can help! Lastly, we’ve got all kinds of holidays coming up. Hopefully I’ll see you soon and
personally wish you, your family, and club, best wishes and congratulations on your 2017
successes. Really looking forward to seeing all of you in 2018 as well.
