Northfield State Fair/Ribfest

Northfield Lions will man the food booth for the evening. Extra help is always welcome!
Submit an application with payment. Registration is MANDATORY. Residents save $5 by pre-registering!
$10 Resident entry fee/$15 Non-resident and day-of-event registration
Bring your own grill/smoker. No unauthorized vehicles are allowed inside the park. If you wish to bring your grill/smoker in with your vehicle, you must contact the Park District ahead of time to obtain permission. No vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit the park on the day of the event.
Plan to supply your own table; Park District picnic table availability is not guaranteed. All Park District picnic tables will be available on a first come – first serve basis beginning at 3PM FRIDAY, September 9th. Any items placed on tables or in the “bowl” lawn area prior to that time will be removed and placed on the east side of the Lodge.
Please be respectful and neighborly and take up only a reasonable amount of space for your set up and group.
Ribs are due to the judging table by 7PM sharp. Any ribs that come in after will not be judged.
Cut your ribs into at least 14 INDIVIDUAL ribs for judging. Appearance will not be judged.
You may submit a cup of glazing sauce with the ribs. If you do, make sure that you do not use your “basting” sauce that has been exposed to raw or undercooked meat.
No sale of ribs is allowed.
Participants are responsible for disposal. Look for metal garbage cans labeled “HOT COALS”
Hofherr Meat Co. judges the entries.
